A non-Astronomical Observation.

I saw my first Swallow of the year today at 4.58pm! It was flying along the road swooping above the houses and then down to the height of the upstairs windows. A surprising yet lovely sight.

Not only that but the local (Mallard) ducks returned yesterday to take up their annual residence in a nearby drive. Hopefully they and the Swallow will have a very succesful breeding season.

Hello world!

I am an amateur Astronomer and work (part-time) as an Education Officer at Liverpool’s World Museum planetarium.

I have been a press and publicity officer for two local and one national Astronomical society and have edited and written newsletters for my local societies.

This weblog will contain musings and information about Spaceflight, Astronomy and Astronomers from all over the world and beyond and, hopefully, from the palatine county of Lancashire: at least that’s the idea!!

I am also interested in the history and philosophy of science.

All feedback is gratefully received – especially if my writing is unclear or confusing.

I am an amateur radio operator: my call sign is 2E0PAJ.
